I am Elizabeth Maxey Long, and I joined Shepherd & Long in 2017. Originally from Yorktown, Virginia, I graduated from the University of Virginia in 2003 with a B.S. in Commerce. After graduating from college, I taught English to German students at a college preparatory high school in Trier, Germany, as part of the U.S. Fulbright teaching assistant program. I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2007 with a concentration in Advocacy.
I started my career as a family law attorney in Richmond, Virginia, in 2007, and am licensed to practice law in both Tennessee and Virginia. Since returning to Tennessee in 2009, I have continued serving clients in the areas of divorce, custody, child support, adoption, and juvenile law. I also practice in the areas of Probate and Estate Planning and Administration. I am a member of the Blount County, Knoxville, and Tennessee Bar Associations.
When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Forrest, and our three young children. We love living in Maryville and taking advantage of everything that the area offers. I am a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church and Maryville Junior Service League (2014- present).
